DIY Recipes for Essential Oil-Infused Shampoo and Conditioner

There is a lot of talk in the beauty and wellness world about the potentially negative effects of conventional shampoos and conditioners, especially those that contain harmful sulfates and parabens. Shampoos and conditioners that contain these harmful ingredients usually end up drying your hair out and irritate your scalp.

If you struggle with finding the best shampoo and conditioner, you might want to consider trying out DIY recipes that are completely natural and involve little time and ingredients. Lucky for you, we have a few DIY essential oil-infused shampoo and conditioner recipes for you to experiment!

DIY Shampoo for all hair types

This is a really simple recipe that only requires about 3 ingredients, but promises loads of fun. Here is what you’ll need:

  • Almond milk or hemp milk
  • Liquid castile soap (check out Dr. Bronner’s brand soap)
  • Your favorite essential oils (Lavender, Tea Tree, Sweet Orange, etc.)
  • Glass mason jar or bottle with a lid

*Use ¼ cup of almond or hemp milk, ¼ cup of liquid castile soap, 15-20 drops of your favorite essential oils, and if you have really dry hair, go ahead and add in a teaspoon of Way of Will’s Moisture Therapy carrier oil, which delivers rich proteins and vitamin D to your scalp and hair. Mix all the ingredients together in a glass jar and shake well before use.
